Sales Coaching

Good sales starts with a good conversation.

Sales is not a collection of tricks for steering a buyer toward an answer. A salesperson should genuinely understand the customer, explain clearly what they can solve and speak openly about value, price and decision.

We coach the entire conversation — from prospecting and first contact through discovery, presentation, price, objections and negotiation to closing and follow-up.

Foundation

A good sales conversation should be good for the customer too.

We do not teach artificial urgency, pressure or manipulative scripts. The salesperson should understand the problem, be clear about what they can solve and be equally comfortable saying when there is no good fit.

01

Understand before presenting.

The customer needs to be heard first. Situation, problem, impact, priority and decision come before the solution.

02

Be willing to say when it is not a fit.

If the solution does not fit, forcing the sale makes no sense. Trust is worth more than one bad deal.

03

Ask for a decision without pressure.

Price, objections and next steps should be discussed clearly, without manufactured urgency or manipulation.

The full conversation

We coach the sales conversation from beginning to end.

There is little point fixing closing if discovery is weak. And objection scripts do not help if value never became clear. We look at the conversation as a whole and work where quality actually breaks down.

01ProspectingWho to contact, why now and how to open a conversation without a generic script.
02OpeningReason for the conversation, agenda and expectations without unnecessary small talk.
03DiscoverySituation, problem, impact, priority, decision, budget and timing — with strong follow-up questions.
04ListeningListening, paraphrasing and catching what the customer is actually saying instead of waiting for a turn to present.
05ValueConnecting the solution to the problem and business impact the customer has already described.
06PriceA clear conversation about price, value and trade-offs without apology or automatic discounting.
07ObjectionsListen, clarify, diagnose, respond and confirm — rather than defend or give in immediately.
08ClosingClarify obstacles and agree who does what by when.
09Follow-upEvery contact needs a reason or value, not just “checking whether you saw the proposal”.

Diagnosis

First we want to see where the quality of the conversation is actually breaking.

The problem may be in prospecting, opening, discovery, listening, value, price, objections, closing, follow-up or pipeline discipline. We do not assume that in advance; we look at real conversations and data.

  • The conversation moves into presentation too early.
  • Discovery stays shallow and the business impact of the problem never becomes clear.
  • The value of the solution stays disconnected from what the customer actually cares about.
  • Price and objections are handled without confidence or discounting starts too early.
  • Meetings end without a clear next step and follow-up has no real reason behind it.

How we work

On real conversations and real deals.

Call review

We look at what the salesperson actually did.

We do not judge the person. We listen to the conversation and identify one or two behaviours that would make the biggest difference in the next call.

Practice

We practise out loud.

Opening, discovery, price, objections and closing go through role-play until the language becomes natural and usable.

Real deal

We prepare a live opportunity.

Before an important meeting, we work through what we know, what we do not know, what we need to ask and the next step we want. Afterwards, we debrief.

Sparring

The relationship can stay long-term.

We can work long-term with a sales manager and team on live deals, call reviews, pipeline, important conversations and changes in the market. Every cycle does not have to look the same.

Group

When the issue exists across the team, we work together.

We use group coaching for shared standards and practice, and individual work where a person needs a more specific focus.

Measurement

A scoreboard, not a feeling.

Sales results also depend on market, product and seasonality. That is why we look at conversation quality and behaviours we can actually change alongside the outcome.

Discovery

The number and quality of questions and whether the real business impact of the problem was understood.

Conversation

Talk ratio, listening, premature presentation and the quality of the value connection.

Next step

Whether who, what and when were agreed instead of an open-ended “we’ll be in touch”.

Outcome

Conversion, cycle length, discounting, follow-up activity and average deal value where the data is meaningful.

Sales

If you want better sales, start with a real conversation.

We can start with one call, one deal or the entire sales process. First, we want to see where the work would actually make a difference.
